Long Beach. The United States Postal Service will hold a public meeting May 27 on its decision to transfer outgoing mail from the Long Beach Processing and Distribution Center to Santa Ana in order to save $2.7 million.
Forty-eight postal jobs will be
lost by the decision. Collection and retail services will remain the same. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Alvarado Elementary
School, 1900 E. 21st St., Signal Hill. Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske has sponsored a City Council resolution opposing the loss
